Delhi high court has directed Delhi university to reserve seats for handicapped students in health care administration
course under the management studies. The court was giving judgment on the petiotioned filed by Ms.Poonam
Dahiya,a physically challanged student.University has been told to reserve one seat, atleast. The court however, did
not allow Ms.Poonam to get admission because she did not approach court on time and if allowed,it would mean
that university had to increase one seat and she would gain unfair advantage over the aspiring physically challanged
students who did not apply as there was no provision for reservation in the course.Ms.Poonam was denied
admissionon on the ground that the application form did not mentioned about the handicapped category.
