Internal and External Wayfinding needs for persons with vision impairments – Recently completed a one year long research funded by the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped, Government of India, culminating in compilation of National level guidelines titled ‘Internal Wayfinding Needs of Persons with Vision Impairments’ for Architects and Interior Designers. This publication (yet to be published) is being funded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, GOI.
Developed a new criterion for rating ‘Accessibility’ of buildings for The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) that has now been incorporated in the TERI GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) Rating System.
Universally Designed Guest Rooms - Conducted a research study to prepare a model for Universally Designed guest rooms for all future ITC properties. The aim of this project was to assist in developing a blue print for standard guest rooms that may easily be converted, as and when needed, into an adapted room for guests with disabilities.
Validation study on Indian Anthropometry - Conducted research study entitled ‘Validation Study of Indian Anthropometric Standards’ in collaboration with the Research Group on Inclusive Environments, University of Reading, UK.
Digital Freedom for Persons with Disabilities – Compiled a country report for India on E-Accessibility Law and Policy for the National University of Ireland, Great Britain.
We are presently providing technical guidance to the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Government of India in the study on ‘Problems and Prospects of Accessible Tourism in India’.
